  • Once the wick is extinguished and the jar is cool enough to handle, add near boiling water to within 1cm from the top of the jar and allow the jar to completely cool. Any residual wax should have melted and floated to the top and formed a ring or cover over the cooled water. Tip off the cooled water and discard the wax. Dislodge the wick holder from the bottom of the jar and discard. If there is still a lot of wax in the bottom of the container, add more near boiling water and repeat the process. A bamboo skewer can be useful to loosen the wax and encourage it to melt and float to the top.

When most of the wax has been removed, clean the jar thoroughly in hot soapy water.

  • Follow a few simple steps to get most from your candle:

    • Trim the wick to approximately 6mm before lighting.

    • On first lighting of the candle, burn the candle for at least 2 hours or until the melt pool nearly reaches the side of the container.

    • Do not burn the candle for more than 4 hours at a time or if the melt pool is more than 1cm deep, extinguish. If you wish to burn the candle longer, allow the candle to cool so that the wax solidifies, trim the wick and relight the candle.

    • Never leave a burning candle unattended or near flammable materials.

    • Avoid burning candle in draughty areas, near an open window, air duct or fan.

    • Never leave a burning candle unattended.

    • Do not touch or move a burning candle.

    • Extinguish and ensure wax is solid before handling candle.

    • The container may become hot. Burn candle on an appropriate flat heat resistant surface. Our ‘Candle Coasters’ are ideal for this.

    • Keep candle away from children.
